It's March Madness!

Where is the year going?

Here are my two monthly pieces, stitched but not finished.

A Bit of March by Lizzie*Kate
Stitched on 16 count Provence aida by Sew it All
with recommended DMC threads
Started 1 February 2017, finished 17 February 2017

March Fairy by Lili of the Valley
Stitched on 16 count Iced Coffee aida by Sew it All
with recommended DMC threads
Started 2 February 2017, finished 27 February 2017

Stitching on other things was a bit limited this month as I spent most of my time finishing Frosty Forest.

Yesterday was opening day for the Needlecraft Haven Autumn meet-up exchange.  Anyone who was at the meet-up was free to enter.  We each wrote down our favourite flower, colour and season on a card, and then the cards were selected randomly.  Each stitcher had to make a needlecase for their partner with the theme of their initial.  This is what I received from my partner, Lindsay...

I can't get it to show up in the photographs but the fabric has a beautiful sparkle to it.  I chose daisies and the colour blue, and my favourite season is spring.

There was also some chocolate included but that has already been started.  Thank you Lindsay, I love everything you chose for me and the needlecase will be well loved.

It's March Madness on the Theme-Tas-Stitch SAL this month but I have no idea what I am going to do!  I want to stitch the two monthly charts from the series I have so far kept up with this year, but I really don't want to end the month with lots of new WIPs!  If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful

Hope you all enjoy a bit of Spring sunshine this week!

Justine

Still admiring your Frosty Forest finish, Justine--and I'm so impressed that you managed to stitch those two cute pieces as well. Not sure how you find the time between work and being a busy mom!

Lovely needlebook from Lindsay--I'm sure it will come in very handy :)

Cute little seasonal finishes. Through a FB group I'm in, I am seeing so many Spring-themed pieces, and I realized that I don't do seasonal stuff, except for a few Christmas cards (though I don't even celebrate Christmas!). I need to up my game! Thanks for being part of my inspiration.

Beautiful finishes! Your fairy looks so pretty on that fabric too :) You have also received a very pretty needle book, the daisy design is lovely. Not sure what to suggest for March madness: new starts or progress on WIPs, the choice is yours! Just have fun!

Well I would say that you are ahead for March Madness with two March pieces already finished. Both are lovely. Did you and Mii buy the Fairy patterns together? 😆
I would suggest to work on few WIPs and may be start 1-2 smalls for March Madness.
That's what I'm gonna do-work on my two WIPs and start 2 smalls.

Love the seasonal stitching and the not-so seasonal Frosty Forest again!
I'm thinking of choosing a part-work and stitching a little bit of each part for the Madness without having loads more new WIPs.

That is a beautiful needlebook What a great exchange. I am just going day by day in March for the same reason, I am trying to reduce my number of WIPs in 2017. So I have made a little promise to myself- if I start it in March I will finish it by December. Lets see how that goes

I love both of your March finishes. I saw a cute one of the Lizzie Kate on FB where they did the flip it along with the March block in the same piece with a little border of shamrocks.

some great progress there, love your pieces! I want to join in the March Madness too but so far I've had hardly any time to stitch this month!

Your finishes are lovely Justine. Love the needlebook you received. It is beautiful.

Your Frosty Forest is gorgeous. Doesn't it feel good to finish a big project?!

You finished your monthly pieces very fast, Justine. And this little March fairy is just so sweet. I love what Lindsay made for you, great motif and great finishing.
I can easily understand why this March Madness causes some thinking for you. But I couldn't start a new project each day either. I didn't even do it when I joined the Crazy January Challenges several years ago. And this being said by a serial starter, lol. I think I would pull out 15 of my oldest WIPs and stich on each of them for two days. But not sure if I could stick with it for a whole month, lol. Let us know how you solved the problem.

Ohhhh, Justine! Well done with all your stitching! Wow, Frosty Forest looks fantastic!
And how gorgeous is that needlecase from Lindsay! I clicked on the photos and in the second and third pics I can definitely see the sparkles! Lovely fabric, beautiful stitching, and cottons too!
Yes, you have a start for March with these finishes ..... I would work on some WIPs if I were you!
