Solo September sign up

Hello everyone

Back by popular demand (well I've had one email asking where the sign-up page is!) I'm hosting another monogamous month, where we stitch on just one project for the whole month.  This month I'm a bit more organised and we will have a sign-up page so that anyone who wants to be jealous at how much progress we all make can find a link to the blogs of those who are joining in.

If you haven't heard of this SAL before, take a look at my posts for Faithful April and Just One July.  The idea is that rather than flitting from project to project, you pledge to stitch on just one project (or two if you finish your original choice!) for the whole of the month.  It's a great way to see progress particularly on larger projects or those that you keep putting to one side for whatever reason.

There are no rules to the sign-up except that it would be nice if you could link to this post below with a blog post including a "before" photo of the project you plan to work on, and I will put another link-up post at the end of the month where you can put a link to your blog showing your "after" progress.  Feel free to post updates throughout the month, and link up here if you would like.

I'm a bit later with posting this than I would have liked.  The main reason is that I can't decide what project to work on!  I had planned to work on Frosty Forest which was here last time I stitched on it...

and should look like this when finished...

But I am really keen to have a new start!

Anyway, I still have three more days to go before I have to make a final decision.

I hope you'll join me and see just how much you can achieve with one month dedicated to a single project!

Justine

Ok, it didn't take much persuasion! I am in ;)
Might start something new, I am not sure yet.

Yay! I'm undecided too, first I was going to stick with one of my two large samplers - but now I may go with a small new start instead.......... I'll be back on Wednesday with my decision lol!

I'm in as well. I just have to decide between two projects - a lot of small Advent and Christmas related designs for the advent calendar for my grandson (16 motifs have still to be stitched) or one of my BAPs which is quite near completion. Like Amanda I'll be back on Wednesday.

I'm going for a "Two Become One" project for my September choice. My niece is getting married in November. In Scotland. In November. It may well be a White Wedding! No, we won't be going! But I will be stitching her something themed for her wedding, it's a pair of projects to symbolise her and hubby.

Thanks Justine. I will continue to work on Sleeping Beauty but I will also be doing starts. I need to catch up to Kate.

Hmm, is it okay to join with a small project that I KNOW I'll finish before the end of the month? I'll definitely keep to the rule of only working a single project until it is done, but I don't want to pervert the rules or the spirit of the challenge! :)

It's going to be fun to see what you choose.

I'm debating choosing a quilt this time around - do other crafty projects count or do you want to keep this to needlework?

I should join - I need to stop messing around with small projects and get back to my UFO that is in desperate need of finishing.

That's a good project to work on. I usually stitch only two projects at a time but right now I need to complete my crochet cushions and wind up before I start challenging me to come out of comfort zone. I guess the way you are doing this may run every month so I will join in future months:)

I wish I could join. I'm travelling in September. Not sure whether I will take any cross stitch with me.I'm sure this will be a lot of fun and I will come back to see progress for everyone.

I won't be joining in, but I will be watching along! The frosty cross stitch looks lovely, but I suppose starting and finishing a new one in a month is a better idea.

This is perfect. I was starting to lose my motivation on Egyptian Sampler (for... reasons), and this might keep me on track. In the unlikely event I finish ES, I'm willing to commit right here and now to continuing on with Fantasy Sampler.
I'll post my "start" photo tomorrow with my WIPWednesday post (perfect timing as it's 8/31 and I have plans, so no starting ahead ;) )

Good luck deciding! I'm still up in the air as well.

Why not! This year I'm committed to working on one project until it is done. It would be awesome to stitch with friends.

Oh I have way too many different projects that are screaming. But I will have fun watching this one. I just love your possible pick. So beautiful. Good luck deciding.

Hi Rahenna you're a no-reply commenter so I hope you see this. Feel free to join us - if you finish your project though you have to choose something else for the rest of the month!

I'm replying here as well as by email as others may be interested- any crafts are welcome!

Thanks Justine, I'm going to sign up right now! :D
Sorry about the no-reply status, I thought I'd fixed that!

Considering I'm already on a one cross-stitch project only this SAL is perfect for me. Although I'll be having a slight change and add 1 knitting project only too (for when I can't stitch) if it's ok :)

Hi, Justine!
I would like to finish my Summer Patchwork Sampler by Gardin Privé and continue one of my UFOs. Thanks for hosting this challenge, I was thinking about to concentrate on less stitching projects...

Oooh I'm in! I found you via Rahenna. I'm committing to the frames/initial part of my contribution to the new Mira round robin. I've got to get that sucker done this month!
