Just One July - the first week

Well the first week of Just One July is over and I have some progress to share.

Just One July is my own little unofficial SAL where I stitch on just one project for a month in an effort to make significant progress on some of my WIPs.  There are quite a few stitchers joining in too so you might see this popping up on other blogs you read.

This month I am stitching on the Cut Thru Pirate Ship by Bothy Threads.  This was started in January 2014 as part of the Crazy January Challenge, and is going to be a gift for younger son.

Here is what it will look like when finished...

This is where I was up to at the start of the month...

And this is what it looks like now!

I am pleased to say that all of the cross stitch on the ship is finished.  There is just the sea to stitch and then the backstitching needs to be completed, and it will be done!  I'm hopeful of a finish before the end of July.

I'm really enjoying stitching this - I must be a One at a Time stitcher at heart.

Until next time, happy stitching!

Justine

  14. So much done! Good work! As I'm joining in your SAL, here's my progress. I'm still working on HippocampusInPatches, but now I have nearly 5 of 12 pages done. It's very detailed, but a whole heap of fun. The only problem I've run into is that I am missing about 6 colors of floss (out of 20). I ordered them -- twice now -- but they're taking a very long time to make it to me. It's been more than a month since I ordered. Apparently, the DMC Variations floss is hard to get in Canada, and slow to be sent from the States. But I'm having fun filling in what I can. Keep up the great work, Justine!
