We have lift off!

Do you want to see a finish?

Well, you've come to the right place because.......ta-daa!

Cut Thru Rocket by Bothy Threads
Stitched on 16 count navy blue aida with included threads
Started 2 January 2015, finished 5 June 2016

I'm so pleased to have this done!  I chose it as one of my new starts for Debbie's Crazy January Challenge 2015 and didn't really touch it since, until I finally decided it had to be completed.  Faithful April saw me working on this one alone for a whole month which meant real progress and just the boost I needed to get it finished.

It's been planned as a gift for elder son since it was started, and I've finished it just in time for his 8th birthday tomorrow.  He has shown lots of interest and actually put five stitches himself into the ring around one of the planets.

I've put all my other stitching to one side to get this done but I have truly enjoyed it and can see me returning to One At A Time stitching in the near future to get this one done for younger son...

And here's one more close up...

Thanks to everyone who joined me or cheered me on during Faithful April.  Who's up for Just One July?!

Justine

Count me in for the Just One July... I have a sweet blackwork project that is in need of TLC ;)

I have been waiting for your post..knew you will post when its a finish.
Congrats on a wonderful finish. Hats off to your dedication.
So sweet of your son to put few stitches in it.
Are you planning to do this again for your younger son?
I'm up for Just one July or is it June...lol

Like Mini I knew that this post had to come sooner or later. And here it is, wow, that's really awesome, Justine, you did it! Major congratulations on this huge finish. Thanks for the detailed pictures.
Just one July will be another successful month for you, I'm sure. If I stitched on my huge projects until they are done I could finish at least ten of them per year, I know. And this sounds very tempting in a way. But then I couldn't have new starts, hmmmm. But when all my kitted projects will be started I am going to rethink this idea and maybe finish up one of my big projects.

Looks great, I bet you're over the moon to have it done. I love that your son has added stitches too. The pirate ship is really cool and definitely needs some love too. I'll join you in July as I'll have done all my birthday and swap stitching and have the perfect project for it.

Oh, I love that pattern... and how great to have finished it in time! Just one July sounds like a good idea to me... I might look which blanket I want to finish most and give it a go, as long as crocheting is allowed? My cross stitch is very rusty!

Congrats on the gorgeous finish Justine. This is one of the few cut thrus that I don't have.

Wow! It looks fantastic! You must be so happy. Isn't it amazing what you can accomplish when you just focus? I am considering doing that with my Stitchers Alphabet, by will have to wait until after I move. I can't wait to see your finished pirate ship - good luck!

Love your rocket ship! What a great gift for a little boy. I'm using a similar rocket to the stars theme on an ad I put together recently (alas, not embroidered). I'd love to be in on your Just One July group, please.

I'm going to join you in July Justine. One exception, I will do my start and spend the rest of the day working on Sleeping Beauty. That's pretty much what I do now.

YAY! It's like you're running a Bothy marathon lately! Did you frame it right away or will you wait for Pirate Kitty (and friends) to be finished and do them together?

I think will join you for JOJ! Who knows if I will be successful; I've been feeling a bit flighty "lately".
