Smalls SAL and a very sparkly finish!

I’m back with two finishes to share with you!

This year I’ve decided to join the Smalls SAL organised by Heather of the Stitching Lotus blog.  My intention is to stitch one of these Lizzie*Kate Twelve Blessings charts each month.  The first one was gifted to me by Mii Stitch and it is so cute I just had to buy the others!

Of course, I also intended to actually finish the ornament each month but that hasn’t happened in January, maybe next month?

Friends by Lizzie*Kate
Stitched on Cloud Brown 16 count aida
with DMC threads
Started and finished 14 January 2016

Next up I’m so excited to show you a very sparkly finish!  I started this piece as part of the Crazy January Challenge 2014 so it has been hanging around for a while now.  I have no idea why as once I picked it up again I couldn’t put it down!  Last time you saw it, it looked like this…

And now here she is in all her beaded glory!

Morning Glory by Nora Corbett
Stitched on Lorchen 28 count by Sparklies
with DMC threads and Mill Hill beads
Started 9 January 2014
Finished 26 January 2016

Here are a few close up photographs of the beautiful beads…

Regular readers will know I am trying to reduce my WIP list this year, hopefully from 11 WIPs to 5.  I have already had two finishes from the list so I’m well on track.  Having said that, I don’t think it will be too long before I start another of these gorgeous Pixie Couture designs.

Thanks Heather for letting me join the Smalls SAL.  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s smalls!

Until next time

Justine

  2. Congratulations on your two finishes! The LK Blessings is so cute and as for the Nora Corbett, well, she looks absolutely a-maz-ing! You must be so happy to not only have finished her but to have reduced you WIP pile by another one. Now to finish-finish your ornament and get Morning Glory framed! :)

  4. Stunning finish, such lovely fabric you chose for that one.

Blessings are lovely, I stitched them all on one piece of fabric when they came out and donated it to our local hospice in memory of my dad as he passed away at Christmastime and they hang it in their chapel.

  40. Yay! I assume you know exactly how you're going to finish-finish Morning Glory? :D And I'm glad you survived all those beads. I love the look beads give a piece but that needle...!! I am not friends with it. :) I have not stitched any NCs; do they not have faces? Or maybe just dependent on the piece, I guess.

    But again, yay finishes! \:D/

  45. Great work! I love your small and the fairy. As much as a pain as beading, and backstitch, can be, it always adds so much to a design.
