Two finishes in one week, or where Alice gets some hair

Hello to all and hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I've not one but two finishes to show you today.  First up is this one by Imaginatings, called Let's Do Coffee.

Let's Do Coffee by Imaginatings
Stitched on 16 count Rustico aida with DMC 3031
Started 9th January 2015, finished 21st May 2015

This is my 8th finish of the 15 projects I started in January for Debbie's Crazy January Challenge, so I'm now officially over halfway!  I know I probably won't finish the challenge as the 15th project I selected was a mini HAED but hey ho.  I'm having fun.

I also finished page 2 of Alice and the Dodo, which I am counting as a mini finish as the pages have over 4000 stitches each!  Alice now has some hair, hairband and part of her forehead.  Here's what she will look like when finished...

And here's where I'm up to...

Alice and the Dodo by GeckoRouge

I'm still really enjoying stitching her and am pleased I have managed to finish more than one page (unlike my progress on Treasure Hunt Bookshelf).

Here's another fun cross stitch news story for you, about a man who got so fed up waiting for his bank to replace his debit card that he cross stitched his own!

Hope to have another stitchy update soon.

Justine

  1. Congrats on a great finish and of getting 8/15 done! I have 10/30 and I know I'm not going to finish them all either, but I'm happy with my completions. Alice and the Dodo looks great!

  3. Haaah, I remember seeing this story too. I think the thing that struck me the most is the fact that there are so many male stitchers! Here in the boonies it's very much a woman's craft.

Weeee you're ahead of the game so far! That HaED will present a challenge but at this rate you may finish it anyway haha. :D Are you going across or down next on Alice?

  9. I love coffee too, great finish! Alice is also looking fantastic :) To be fair I think half a page of Treasure Hunt Bookshelf is quite an achievement considering the detail in that pattern-it's a pretty intense stitch!

  24. I love, love, love the Let's Do Coffee piece. Beautiful work! And, how exciting to be able to work on Alice's hair. Page two is a great finish. Thanks for the link on the debit card cross-stitch. How embarrassing for the bank. The related article about the man in Texas being arrested for trying to pay his property taxes with one dollar bills was kind of comical, too.
