YOTA and more Crazy January progress

Hello to everyone reading this.  Here we are enjoying a long weekend, school holidays and of course Easter.  Some last minute Easter finishes are in order this afternoon but first here's some cross stitch progress to show you.

The first Saturday of the month is our YOTA update.  This is a fun easy-going SAL hosted by Pull the Other Thread.  My plan is to stitch on just one project at a time from my Unfinished Objects pile, until it's finished.

I had one finish during March which I couldn't wait to share with you, here it is again in case you missed it...
Clocks by Lanarte

I asked for suggestions on what I should stitch next and Morning Glory by Nora Corbett came out top.  Sadly I'm just not enjoying on stitching this.  I think it's because I don't have any plans for the finished piece and living in a house full of boys no one else will appreciate this framed on the wall!

I did make a little bit of progress on her left wing...

Here's the whole thing so far.

I am a bit disappointed by my lack of progress but am thinking of swapping this one for something else.  Nothing else grabs me at the moment though, apart from my Crazy January pieces! (oh and a couple of new charts I have but I'm sworn off new starts for now!)

First up from the Crazy January pile this month was Roma by Lanarte.  This was my Secret Santa gift from work.  I still don't know who chose this for me but I love it!  I'm now up to here...

Sorry it's a bit crumpled.  You can see the outline of her head and hand starting at the top, and the Coliseum bottom left.  Here's the finished article...

I then moved on to this one and stitched the boy.

The Love Rain by Soda Stitch

Here's a picture of what it will look like when finished.

This is really cute and fun but I'm going to move on now to one of my other Crazy January pieces.  I wonder which one?

I only ever log into blogger when typing my posts, and when I started writing this post about half an hour ago I had 199 followers.  I am so happy to say that I now have 200!  I was planning a little giveaway soon and now seems like such a good time.  Stay tuned as I will be publishing details next week!

Thanks everyone for looking and hope you all have a lovely Easter/Spring/whatever else you have to celebrate!

Until next time

Justine

Why not commandeer a section of your bedroom wall for Morning Glory? It's too pretty not to show it off when done. Yay on 200 followers! Happy Easter!

Congratulations on your second century of followers! Morning Glory isn't the most blingy of Nora's designs, I am sure she will look more interesting once the wings are finished.

Lots of beautiful stitching going on. If you are anything like me you won't be happy until you start the things yelling for you to stitch on them. I will gladly take the Morning Glory haha.

The clocks piece is really gorgeous- well done! Roma is looking so good too. You don't gave a lot left on the Nora piece. Maybe getting to the beads will boost your enthusiasm for it as its so pretty

I think Glory is very pretty! Hope you get motivated to stitch her again in the future, maybe you can hang her in your room where she will be appreciated. The Love Rain is so cute, never saw those before so I am off to look them up! :)

Congrats on the clocks finish Justine :) The polka dot fabric on Love Rain is really cute! I'm also loving Morning Glory, it's Beautiful! Maybe you just need a break from it for a bit to get your inspiration back :)

I tried not to squee when I saw the Soda Stitch -- fail. :D They're just too cute!

Too bad Ms. Glory isn't calling to you. I'd do Coffee if you aren't tired of browns by now. Those letters work up fast and give a nice sense of accomplishment haha. But I bet you pick up the HaED! :D And congrats on your 200 followers too~

Lots of lovely projects Justine. Would it be possible to make the Nora Corbett into a bag to hold your stitching? Something just for you - it does look lovely.

Morning Glory is looking gorgeous and I am so sorry that you don't enjoy stitching on her. But one of my rules for this hobby is that you should enjoy what you are doing, and if not, just put it away and stitch on something else, lol. And you were doing this as well :)) All your crazy projects have seen some great progress.

Congrats on finishing Clocks!!! WOOHOO!! It always feels great when we get to finish a project. I LOVE your morning Glory! Keep on stitching her. All you need to do is invent a story for your boys about her. Like say shes the fairy who brings them a treat in the morning for being good. You could slip something underneath their pillows at night. So when they wake up they will know "Morning GLory" visited them - LOL! Love all your progress on your other wips.
love Annette

Well done again on your Clocks finish. I am sorry you've got no mojo for Morning Glory as she is stunning. Maybe one day you'll finish her off. But in the meantime your other WIPs are coming along nicely. I love the colours in Roma and the Soda Stitch children are so cute! :)
