New friends and Gifted Gorgeousness April

Hi everyone!

I must tell you about the most wonderful weekend I've just had.  I met up with Ingrid of Mii Stitch and Rachel of Ten Hour Stitcher for a weekend of shopping at the Nimble Thimble in Oswestry, chatting and stitching.  There was a lot more chatting than stitching.  It felt as if we had known each other for years.  Thanks ladies for a great weekend - let's do it again soon!

Of course everyone brought gifts.  Here are mine from Rachel...

Stitchers Make The Best Friends chart, a keyring, lots of buttons and beads, a cute butterfly needleminder and a whole jar stuffed full of bright ribbons!

And these goodies came from Ingrid...

Alice Tralala chart, Tilda fabric, Nina's and DMC threads, a cute Tatty Teddy kit, notebook and sew handy tissues

Ingrid had also made gorgeous pinkeeps for both Rachel and I, here's mine...

As I said, there was more chatting than stitching, but I did get a few stitches in Roma, which is also a Gifted Gorgeousness piece as it was my Secret Santa gift from work last Christmas (I've put quite a few more stitches into it this week)

I love working on this one so much, the colours are lovely and as always with Lanarte kits the fabric and floss are both good quality.  However, she is now having to compete with my new love, Alice and the Dodo.

Here's a close-up...

You should be able to see the outline of the first page (of twenty, shhhhh!)

Here's what she will look like when finished.

As you can probably tell, I've started in the top left hand corner (I promise, Rachel, I won't stop there!)  I'm going to stitch in rows rather than columns and the second page should see the start of Alice's hair.

Well that's all for now as I want to catch up on all your blogs and then get back to Alice as she's calling!

Until next time

Justine

So great, such a weekend with stitching friends. Can there be better things than stitching, shopping stash, eating, chatting and laughinmg together? And exchanging such wonderful gifts as I can see on your and Rachel's and Ingrid's blogs.
You have stitched a lot on your Rome project. And wow, you have a new big project and have already stitched such a lot on it. Great!

What a great meeting that was! I was wondering! I have seen this fabric to your blog and to others the one with the red lines on. Is it printed like that?Or do you make the lines every ten cross stitches to help you with the counting of the stitches?AriadnefromGreece!

Justine.... Justine..... Juuuuuussssstiiiiiiinnnnnnnnne... that's Alice calling. Plaintively. :) I completely understand-- sometimes pieces get quite demanding in their efforts to get attention.

Congrats on the meet up-- I am terribly jealous.

Yay, meeting people from the online world is kinda fun though a bit scary! You got all sorts of fun things out of it too, as well as new 'real life' friends. Oswestry is an odd name to pronounce for some reason. I keep stuffing Rs where there shouldn't be and taking away the one that does exist!

Looks like you made plenty progress and have a lovely gray blob to show for it~ :D
