1600 stitches in and looking much better!

Thanks to everyone who left comments giving advice on my HAED stitching on my last post.  I will be replying to you all individually but would just like to thank you all here.  It is very much appreciated.

A reminder of what it will look like when finished...

And here's my progress after 1600 stitches!

I found out I was doing a mixture of continental tent stitch and half cross stitch (thanks to Pull the Other Thread).  I have now switched to continental tent stitch all the time and am much more happy with the result.  Currently I'm only using two colours (DMC 819 and 3770) so I think any flaws show up much more easily.  Once I get into the confetti section where the house is I think it will look a lot better.

Here's a zoom-out shot.

As a thank you for all your advice, I put the names of all the commenters into a virtual hat, and comment number 17 from Katie was the winner.  I've sent Katie a little something from her wishlist as a thank you.  I wish I could send something to everyone and if I ever win the lottery, I will!

Until next time

Justine

Its a beginning and that's the sad thing with HEADS its a long time before it looks more like something rather than a beginning.

First I want to say your progress is great. I agree it looks fantastic and absolutely gorgeous on the zoom out haha. I've noticed with my HAEDs that sometimes I just need to hold it away.

Secondly you didn't have to get me something. I love your blog and have really enjoyed getting to know you. Thank you so very much! Thank you to the others who congratulated me. She sent me a HAED that was on my wishlist. I love it!

A great chart, and a great start on it.
I still have my first HAED in a bag, fully kitted up but not staretd yet. I prepared it with a 40ct fabric but I'm not sure if I really want to stitch it on this large piece of fabric. I'll have to do some more thinking before I decide something.

Lol, I too had no idea there was a difference in tent in half cross stitch! So your question taught us all! Congrats to Katie, she deserves it after the all the house drama! :D

Wonderful progress and great stand too. Happy you got things sorted out~

(sorry if this posted twice, Google was complaining about logging in, bah)

Great start! I'm one of the weird people who doesn't like new starts, I'm a progress person and love that moment when it suddenly starts to look like something :)

I'm so glad that you are more comfortable with it now and I'm glad that people were able to help.
