WIPocalypse 2014 - January

OK, so not content with Crazy January Challenge 2014, I have just signed up for WIPocalypse 2014 also!  If you want to know more, head over to Measi's blog.

I am going to focus on two projects at a time, as I have fifteen others to worry about this year!  First up is this one, which is my oldest WIP so far and was started in August 2008 just after my 5 and a half year old was born...
Holiday Village by Dimensions

I love this piece.  My Dad saw it finished in a shop just after I bought it and said it looks incredible.  I don't expect to finish this year but would like to make some progress.

Number two is this one...
A to Z sampler by Historical Sampler Company

I started this one in December 2008 when I found out I was pregnant with younger son.  Elder son already has a similar sampler which was finished before he was born (apart from the birth details of course).  Poor Dominic has had to wait a long time for his!  I need to frog the "D" square as I tried to change Doll to Dinosaur and I didn't get it quite right.  I am going to aim for one square a month on this.

Measi would like us to share a bit more about ourselves this month.  So, here goes.  I'm almost 42 and live with my husband and our two sons in the North West of England, in between Manchester and Liverpool.  I work three days a week but would love to be a stay at home mum!

I started stitching in 1988 when my mum gave me a tapestry picture of a squirrel to complete.  I completed a couple more tapestries before moving on to cross stitch when I saw a picture of a stitched Valentine's card in a magazine.  The boyfriend and I parted company but happily I gained a new hobby!  I have stitched pretty much ever since, always on one project at a time until I started reading blogs in mid-2013 and I'm now up to 20 WIPs which is a lot for me.

I look forward to sharing in the WIPocalypse with you all.

Until next time, I'd better get some stitching done!

Justine

  8. Great projects Justine :) My WIPocalypse list is also short, this way I can focus more on the projects. Did you consider adding some green below the dinosaur? This way it could be like he's in the jungle and you wouldn't have to frog it. Just an idea...
